Above is the resting state of this piece, with the knife held magnetically within the wooden orange slice. When being stored, the container allows to the user to move the knife in an up and down rocking motion, inspired by the motion of the knife when cutting food.
When the knife is in use, the two sides of the orange slice can be taken apart and put back together laying flat to create a serving / charcuterie board. The intention here is for the container to have a purpose both when the knife is and isn't in use.
